| The present invention is a simple technique for maintain ing Synchronization between the key used in encrypting a data packet at a Source node in a data communication network and the key used in decrypting the same data packet once it is received at a destination node in the network. The technique permits keys to be updated without interrupting an established connection between the two nodes. |
