Özet
An approximation algorithm is developed to obtain the loss probabilities in ATM networks with two priority classes: a high priority class associated with a guaranteed bandwidth grade of service and a low priority class used to increase the network utilization beyond those levels allowed by guaranteed bandwidth traffic alone. Arrival process to the network is assumed to be Interrupted Poisson Process. The service time at each node is distributed Erlang with five phases. The algorithm decomposes the network into individual nodes and each node is analyzed numerically in isolation. The validation tests show that the algorithm produces fairly accurate results.
