| Technology progresses rapidly, within 15 years, electronic control systems become outdated and it is difficult to find spare parts. Retrofit of an old systems helps companies to benefit from new technological developments, reduce maintenance costs and provides increased in the line performance. In our lab, there exits an old production line which has PC based control system that does not work. It is retrofitted into a PLC-based architecture using industrial bus. By integrating industrial robots, the current system has been revised and control architecture becomes distributed control structure which is for flexible production line. |
