| Özet |
| In this paper, the technical efficiency of the Turkish agricultural sector is investigated using a deterministic production frontier approach for the time period 1967-87. The decomposition of overall efficiency into scale efficiency, congestion and pure technical efficiency is also presented. Time series data on labour, land, capital, fertilizer and output are used. The results indicate that the sector fared well until 1981 in terms of technical efficiency. From 1981 onwards the Turkish agricultural sector has become inefficient mainly due to the congestion in the use of inputs. |
