Özet
Previous research has shown that eyeblinks are important in understanding the psychophysiological significance of cognitive functions. This symposium underscores the value of blinking as an indicator of important psychological processes, such as, attention, deception, and social judgment. Fukuda will show how recent studies of eyeblink inhibition and facilitation pre-and post-events occur during temporal and spatial attention tasks. He will describe eyeblink activities that serve as an index of selective attention and cognitive processing. Tada will report on a new measure of]";“sole blink]";” rates, which may be a representative measure of facial expressions. He will discuss how this new measure of blinking serves as a social cue and, on the basis of ontogenetic and phylogenetic studies, how it is relevant to the two-factor of attention and hedonia.
